The Captain

Captain Jeff Dutremble is a licensed United States Coast Guard Captain and Registered Maine Guide.

He's been fishing the waters of the Boothbay Harbor region for over 40 years and knows the spots to catch fish like the back of his hand.

At the age of 4, he hauled in his first mackerel from the dock, and since then, his passion for fishing has evolved into an obsession (just ask his wife and daughters :)

Jeff believes that fishing is much more than the act of catching fish -- it is a chance to connect with nature, to be fully present and in the moment, and to build memories that last a lifetime.

Studies have shown that fishing also reduces stress and boosts mood, so in Jeff's mind, it's a great hobby to live a happier life.

His favorite fishing method is catching striped bass from his paddle board on a fly rod (when he's not out chartering clients, of course).

He is an avid learner and loves teaching fishing methods to his clients, especially children.

Capt. Jeff is also a children's book author (you can find his books at www.drjeffsbooks.com), former professional baseball player, retired Orthopedic Surgeon/Army Captain (and, he was an extra in Taylor Swift's music video "Mine" -- true story :)

He lives in Arundel Maine during the winter months, and spends the majority of his time in the warmer months at their summer cottage on Southport Island with his wife, daughters, (and their dog, Skipper :)

Jeff is living his dream and pursuing his passion -- he feels blessed that he is able to share his love for fishing and the Boothbay Harbor waters with his clients
